DENVER — U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris was in Denver Tuesday as part of a four-state swing after President Joe Biden's State of the Union address.
Upon landing, Harris met with Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston on the tarmac after getting off her aircraft, Air Force Two.
The campaign event was held at RiNo's Exdo Event Center on Tuesday afternoon.
Harris delivered a speech that touched on key issues for the Biden campaign, including abortion access, the southern border and gun violence, recognizing Colorado's unfortunate history with this particular issue.
"In memory of Columbine, Aurora, Uvalde and Club Q, we continue — and we all continue — to fight for an assault weapons ban, universal background checks and red flag laws," Harris said in her speech.
The visit was the vice president’s fourth trip to Colorado since being sworn in. Harris previously visited in Colorado in March 2021, March 2023 and June 2023.
