AURORA, Colo. — First lady Jill Biden visited the Denver metro area this weekend.
Biden arrived in Denver on Friday night before participating in an event at noon Saturday at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She delivered remarks and joined in a roundtable discussion as part of the White House Initiative on Women's Health.
President Joe Biden and Jill Biden launched the initiative last November with the goal of changing how the U.S. approaches and funds research on women's health.
"Together, we will build a health-care system that puts women and their lived experiences at its center," Jill Biden said, according to a news release. "Where no woman or girl has to hear that 'it's all in your head,' or 'it's just stress.' Where women aren't just an afterthought but a first-thought. Where women don't just survive with chronic conditions but lead long and healthy lives."
The visit was part of a four-day trip that also includes stops in Minneapolis and Nashville, Tennessee.
The White House announced her trip to Colorado on Thursday.
