DENVER - If you're a dog owner, you know how expensive a trip to the vet can be.
That doesn't mean you have to skip out on getting your furry friend their shots each year.
The Denver Animal Shelter is offering "Vaccinations in the Park" this summer. It's a low-cost initiative to help people care for their dogs. 9NEWS spoke with a representative about how the program works.
The program starts on May 19 and goes through September. Pet owners can get vaccinations for rabies and other known diseases. Pet licenses can also be bought at the following locations:
- May 19, Garfield Park- Arizona/Newton
- June 9, Harvey Park- Evans/Tennyson
- June 23, Greenway Park- 22nd/Syracuse
- July 7, Southwest Park- 9200 W. Saratoga
- July 21, Fuller Park- 28th/Williams
- Aug. 4, Sloan's Park - In front of boat house
- Aug. 18, Barnum Park- In front of rec. center
- Sept. 8, Fred Thomas Park- 2400 Quebec
