CASTLE ROCK – Lightning is the suspected cause of a Castle Rock house fire that prompted a response from 35 firefighters from four different departments.
The blaze was reported at around 3 p.m. Tuesday by a neighbor. Neither of the house's two occupants were home when it started. They have two cats, according to a Castle Rock spokesperson. One of them is unaccounted for.
The home is located in the Meadows area of Castle Rock.
No firefighters were injured battling the blaze, which happened after lightning storms swept through the area.
