The 99ers Sports Bar and Lady Justice Brewing Company team up for pop-up event, kicking off Pride Month

Fans packed the seats of Lady Justice as the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team beat South Korea, 4-0.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Lady Justice Brewing Company hosted a pop-up watch party with the 99ers Sports Bar for the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team's game against South Korea on Saturday, the first day of Pride Month.

Lady Justice has been around for 10 years, and just opened up shop in Englewood in March. The 99ers Sports Bar says they’ll focus exclusively on women’s sports when they open, hopefully in July.

Until then, Lady Justice says it was a no-brainer to get everyone together to watch the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team and celebrate Pride.

"We are not one thing or another thing, and we are definitely not a sports bar," said Alison Wisneski, co-owner and director of marketing and sales for Lady Justice Brewing. "99ers is definitely a sports bar, and so for us what matters is showing up for our community and responding to what they’ve asked for. They have been asking to watch women's sports and 99ers isn’t open yet."

Fans were happy to have a place to celebrate and watch.

“Today is, like, such an important day,” said Phoebe Sacks. “It’s the first day of Pride, and like there’s no better way than, like, to celebrate a Saturday, first day of Pride Saturday by, like, supporting these two awesome businesses. We are happy to like get out here for the first time and see what it’s all about.”

That’s the reason the 99ers Sports Bar is opening in the first place.

“This is just so much bigger than us,” said Miranda Spencer, co-owner of the 99ers Sports Bar. "It’s like we just get to be the two people that are lucky enough to stand behind the bar and be a part of the progress and the movement that not only women’s sports are doing, but women’s sports bars as well.”
