A large plume of smoke was visible in the northeast Denver metro area Friday afternoon due to a 10-acre brush fire that broke out near eastbound Interstate 76 and East 120th Avenue.
The fire led Colorado State Patrol to close the eastbound lanes of the highway for a time, but it has since reopened, according to Brighton Fire Rescue.
Video tweeted by firefighters and from 9NEWS viewers shows a large plume of smoke and towering flames:
The fire was out just after 2 p.m., according to Brighton Fire, though crews did stay on the scene to put out hot spots.
There’s no word what caused the fire.
