LAKEWOOD — Firefighters say a Lakewood home is "most likely a total loss" after a fire that broke out Sunday afternoon.
West Metro Fire Rescue said crews were called out to the house in the 1300 block of South Depew Street at around 1:45 p.m. The homeowner was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, and his dog walked out on her own.
West Metro said the roof partially collapsed, and the heat from the fire was so strong that the house next door had to be evacuated.
The fire was possibly caused by a wood stove, according to firefighters.
