Jennifer Reali, the "fatal attraction killer" convicted of fatally shooting her lover's wife, has died, the Colorado Department of Corrections confirms to 9NEWS.
Reali was convicted of the 1990 slaying Dianne Hood almost 30 years ago and was granted parole last December.
The 55-year-old Reali had cancer and was allowed to live under the Intensive Supervision Parole Inmate program in Colorado, which let her drive a vehicle, hold a job and live in a Denver apartment before her death.
She was sentenced when she was 28 years old after she shot and killed Hood, a mother of three, outside a lupus support meeting nearly three decades ago.
Her life sentence was commuted by Gov. Bill Ritter in 2011, making her eligible for parole.
While her nickname is the same as the 1987 movie Fatal Attraction starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close, they are not related in any other way but name.
