JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A 13-year-old girl who was reported missing after being involved in a reported hit-and-run crash in Denver early Sunday has been found safe, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies said Sunday afternoon that the girl was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday near her home at South Kipling Parkway and West Bowles Avenue.
Sometime overnight, deputies said, the girl took her mother's Toyota Avalon. The car was involved in a hit-and-run crash in the 4700 block of Vine Street in north Denver, the sheriff's office said. The car was found abandoned and the girl had not been seen or heard from, deputies said.
The sheriff's office said Monday afternoon that the teen has been found safe and reunited with family.
