BOISE COUNTY - Idaho State Police and the Boise County Sheriff's Office are investigating a snow plow accident that killed an Idaho Transportation Department employee Tuesday morning.

ISP Capt. Bill Gardiner said the accident happened at milepost 52 on Idaho 21, at Mores Creek Summit.

Boise County dispatch said a passerby came by the sheriff's office to report the accident around 10 a.m.

Gardiner said it was reported as a crash involving an ITD snowplow.

Instead, the ISP trooper who responded found that a man had been sucked into the blades of the plow. Gardiner said the plow is the type that has rotary blades.

Gardiner said the man was identified as Byran Bidegain, and he worked out of the ITD shed in Idaho City.

We don't have his exact age, but the sheriff's office said he's approximately 62 years old.

Police say no one witnessed the accident, so it's unclear how Bidegain got caught in the blades.
