Nelson is the wife of Weld County Sheriff's deputy Ken Nelson and sources say she had an affair with Garraus' husband, Ignacio Garraus, and had his baby 10 months ago.
9Wants to Know confirmed on Friday that Ken Nelson met with his wife before her arrest and he is now officially a part of the investigation and has hired a lawyer to represent him.
Earlier this week, Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck took himself off of the case and the Larimer County District Attorney's Office will now take over the case.
On Tuesday, February 13, a judge in Greeley will rule on media requests to open sealed information in the case. The media outlets have requested the arrest affidavits in the case. Those documents could reveal more of a time line of the incidents that happened the night of the murder.
Nelson is due back in court on March 2.
