Two forensic pathologists contacted by 9News examined the autopsy results for DennisYaklich's first wife Barbara. Both pathologists say she did not die of natural causes as was listed on the autopsy from 1977. They said she died from a blow or blunt trauma to the liver area.A state-wide task force is investigating the Pueblo County Sheriff's Department Offense Report on Barbara Yaklich's death. It's at the request of Sheriff Dan Corsentino. Serving on the task force are Pueblo Sheriff Corsentino, Commander J. R. Hall from the Pueblo Sheriff's Department, Denver Police Captain Dave Abrams, Denver Police Lt. Jon Priest, CBI Investigator Steve Johnson and Investigator Lou Smit, best-known for his work on the Jon Benet Ramsey investigation in Boulder. The second investigation is under the Pueblo County Coroner, James Kramer. Kramer says his investigation will involve consulting other forensic pathologists and finding all the information he can on the case. Both the sheriff and the coroner say they're concerned by the new analysis by the Denver pathologists. They say it's important to find out the truth.The results and publicity from the investigation will very probably affect Donna Yaklich, Dennis Yaklich's second wife. She's in prison for 40 years for hiring two teenagers to shoot her husband. Donna Yaklich claimed her husband Dennis abused her. Dennis Yaklich was killed in 1985.
