Driver wanted in deadly hit-and-run on I-225

A Denver Police spokesman said the victim was struck by two vehicles early Tuesday morning. One driver stopped, the other didn't.

DENVER — Denver Police are looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian and did not stop early Tuesday morning on Interstate 225.

The crash was reported in the southbound lanes of the highway near South Tamarac Street at 2:29 a.m. The woman was struck by two semi-trucks, according to a Denver Police spokesman The first driver did not stop, but the second driver remained on the scene.

Police did not provide a description of the truck that left the scene or its driver.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released. Due to the investigation, the highway was closed for about three hours.
