KUSA — KUSA – It has flown in space, as well as Ground Zero and the Pentagon.
It has traveled more than 7 million miles and Wednesday, it flew in Commerce City for a local hero.
We’re talking about the U.S. Honor Flag, which is used in tributes and funerals for public servants killed in the line of duty.
It flew in honor of Deputy Heath Gumm outside the Adams County Sheriff’s Office substation on Wednesday.
Gumm was shot and killed while responding to a call back in January.
After the ceremony, the flag was taken down and then moved to the dispatch center, so Gumm’s fellow deputies could also take part in honoring him.
