Thanksgiving is over, and if you have your life together, at this point you’ve probably done all of the dishes and will be living on leftover turkey and stuffing for the foreseeable future.
But what about your used cooking oil? No, you definitely shouldn’t just throw that away or … gasp! … flush it down the drain.
The city of Aurora is here to help you out.
You can bring your used oil to the formal Post-Thanksgiving Cooking Oil Collection Event.
It’s slated for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday behind Fire Station No. 9 at 17200 E. Mexico Avenue.
Both Aurora residents and non-residents can drop off their used cooking oil so it can be properly disposed of.
Just a heads up: Your oil should be kept indoors in the meantime and warm so it can be easily poured.
Denver has also compiled a list of private companies that accept your gross cooking oil. Call ahead before stopping by these locations.
