GOLDEN, Colo. — A Golden Police officer was uninjured after crashing into a jersey barrier Wednesday morning, according to Golden Police.
A police department spokesperson said the officer was responding to an overturned tractor trailer in the westbound lanes of Highway 58 just east of Washington Avenue when they lost control in icy conditions. The officer was not injured.
The tractor trailer crash happened in the same stretch of road where officer Evan Dunn was killed earlier this month after he stopped to assist with a crash in icy conditions. Dunn was investigating a crash in the eastbound lanes of Highway 58, directly on the other side of the highway from where Wednesday morning's crash occurred.
The crash involving the tractor trailer happened around 9:15 a.m. The cause remains under investigation. That driver sustained minor injuries.
