The company will have to sweep the city for scooters daily and use an automated communication system to notify customers when they’re parking them incorrectly.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Electric scooters are coming to a Fort Collins street or sidewalk by the end of the summer, and we’ll soon know which company will provide them.

The city will interview companies interested in bringing their scooters there during the next two weeks and should pick one by late July, Fort Collins transportation planner Amanda Mansfield said. Fort Collins City Council approved a few more regulatory tweaks incorporating e-scooters into city parking and traffic codes on Tuesday.

Shortly after picking a company, the city’s electric scooter share program will begin a 12-month pilot period. Education, outreach and marketing will continue through the pilot period with the assistance of Colorado State University staff.
