A former Adams County sheriff has died, the agency announced on Facebook on Sunday afternoon.
William T “Bill” Shearer passed away Saturday night, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Office. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.
Shearer served as sheriff from 1995-2003.
