FBI Director: ISIS is biggest threat to U.S.

The head of the FBI says ISIS is now the biggest threat against the United States.
FBI Director speaks in Denver

DENVER - The head of the FBI says ISIS has now surpassed al-Qaeda in terms of which terrorist group holds a larger threat against the United States.

During a visit to the FBI's office in Denver, Director James Comey said ISIS's aggressive online recruitment of "troubled souls" is a top concern within the agency.

"We see it resonating increasingly with the young. People trying to figure out who they want to be in life," said Director Comey. "It's larger in number. It has a larger reach in the United States. It is our number one focus right now."

Christopher Hill, a former ambassador to Iraq and the current dean at the University of Denver agrees with Comey on the growing threat.

"They are very much on the ascendency," Hill said. "They are holding territory in the Middle East and clearly they are an inspiration to many young, disaffected people."
