DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A woman was killed Friday in a head-on crash involving a semi-truck in Douglas County.
The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said troopers responded to Highway 83 and Arfsten Road southeast of Larkspur at 3:51 p.m. on a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a Toyota SUV and a semi-truck.
CSP said the woman driving the SUV was trying to pass traffic in an area that was striped for no passing when her SUV crashed into the semi-truck head-on.
The woman died at the scene, CSP said. The truck driver was not hurt.
Highway 83 was closed for several hours. It reopened at around 8:20 p.m.
The woman's name has not been released.
