BOULDER, Colo. — An electric vehicle exploded in Boulder Saturday morning.
Boulder Fire said crews responded at 6:08 a.m. to a home on Emerald Road for a fire alarm and found an electric vehicle smoking in the garage. Additional units were requested when the Volvo SUV exploded.
The residents of the home were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. The majority of the damage to the home was caused by smoke.
Crews remained on scene for hours ventilating the home and working to safely remove the car from the garage.
The fire is under investigation to confirm the cause, and more information will be released when it is available.
