DENVER - Police say a passenger in a truck involved in a traffic stop shot himself in the leg.
A Denver officer was about to initiate a traffic stop, for an unspecified reason, when the man driving the truck pulled over on his own, according to police.
It happened just before 3 p.m. near South Federal Boulevard and West Alameda Avenue.
Police say when the truck pulled over, the driver came out of the vehicle and told the officer about the passenger's self-inflicted wound. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It's not clear when the shooting occurred. The intersection was closed during the investigation.
