DENVER – The Denver Police Department says it issued 243 citations/arrests for 4/20 weekend – and 196 of those were marijuana related.
Roughly 100 of those were issued on Sunday, and another 60 were issued on Saturday.
Thousands of people descended on the Mile High City for the unofficial marijuana-related holiday. Despite the number of citations handed out, DPD says there were no major issues.
Most of the tickets were for public consumption of marijuana, which remains illegal under state law.
