KUSA — A dog died after getting trapped inside a truck that went underwater Friday afternoon at Chatfield State Park, according to Littleton Fire Rescue.
Firefighters with the department were called to north boat ramp on reports of a submerged truck in the reservoir at about 11:30 a.m.
One person and one dog inside the truck were able to escape without injury, but another dog had to be pulled out of the truck by a dive and rescue team.
Littleton Fire says firefighters tried resuscitation efforts for about 30 minutes, but were unable to revive the dog.
A vehicle recovery operations team is still on scene working to get the truck out of the water.
