Technical issue knocks DMV services offline for hours Tuesday

The Department of Motor Vehicles said a technical issue impacted most services. The Department of Revenue, Taxation Division also affected.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) experienced a statewide outage Tuesday. The DMV first reported the outage around 11 a.m. At 1 p.m., a spokesperson said the issue had been resolved and all services were back to normal.

The DMV said the impacted services affected were:

  • Online DMV services
  • Driver license and ID card services at state and county driver license offices
  • MV Express Kiosk services
  • County Motor Vehicle Office services
  • DMV call centers

The Colorado Department of Revenue, Taxation Division's online filing system was also experiencing service outages due to a technical issue. In-person service at Taxpayer Service Centers is not being affected by the technical issue.
