DENVER — Dish Network will lay off dozens more people at its Englewood and Littleton offices in April and the executive in charge of the company’s wireless retail business has resigned.
The changes revealed Wednesday are the latest signs of trouble at Dish Network, now part of parent company EchoStar Corp. (Nasdaq: SATS), as it tries to handle looming debt payments and struggles to establish a new 5G mobile data and phone network.
Dish Network LLC, in a letter to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, said 53 employees were notified Tuesday that they will be permanently laid off April 20. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter said the positions include account executives, data scientists and engineers, among others.
