CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — Discolored water flowing down Clear Creek on Tuesday afternoon is not a public health issue, the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office said the county's environmental health department determined the gold-orange color was the result of a blocked sediment pond that was let loose down the creek.
"This is not a public health issue and should be cleared up shortly," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post at 3 p.m. Tuesday. "At this time, there's no need to call 911. Thank you for everyone's concern and patience."
