The Adams County coroner has identified a man killed by a sheriff's deputy as 27-year-old Bailey Turner of Golden.
According to a press release from the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the deputy responded to the Pinetree Village Apartments, located at 7520 Broadway, for a report of a disturbance just after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
While on scene, the deputy found a man in the hallway who became aggressive and a fight between the two started, according to the release from the sheriff's office.
The release states the deputy tried to use his taser and then shot the suspect with his gun.
Turner was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. The deputy was also hospitalized for a head injury, according to the release.
The shooting will be investigated by the Adams County Critical Incident Team. The deputy is on administrative leave.
