DENVER - Denver Water says some of their customers reported receiving calls from individuals claiming to be with Denver Water and asking for payment.
The caller identification appears to be from Denver Water's Customer Care number.
In some cases, the caller gave an alternative number to call back. When a customer called the number back, "Denver Water" answered.
Denver Water says the only types of calls customers should expect from them are automated courtesy calls as a reminder to pay past-due bills or follow-up calls for service requests.
Customers are asked to call Denver Water's Customer Care number directly at 303-893-2444 with billing questions or to make a payment. Any suspicious activity should be reported to law enforcement.
