Donated medical supplies shipped to Middle East during Israel and Hamas ceasefire

Project C.U.R.E. sends donated medical supplies to those who need them most –the project said there are people on both sides of this conflict.

DENVER — The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has allowed a group of volunteers to ship supplies to the Middle East – Project C.U.R.E. sends donated medical supplies to those who need them most.

Douglas Jackson, the CEO of Project C.U.R.E., said there are people on both sides of the conflict.

"No mom on either side of this conflict woke up on the 6th of October and said tomorrow I want my whole life to be destroyed," Jackson said. "That's really the sad part about what's happened here so this is why Project C.U.R.E. exists is we are here to take care of the people who are wounded and injured as a result of things that they didn't even ask for."

Jackson said they had not been able to get into Gaza until the ceasefire went into effect. A pallet with $300,000 in medical supplies was headed out to Gaza Thursday.

"We've already done almost a million dollars into Israel and now this load right here that's going through Egypt and on into Gaza," he explained. "Think about things like tourniquets and hemostatic bandages, gauze, sutures, gloves and the things you need to take care of wounded people that's what this load represents."

With each box filled Project C.U.R.E. wants to send a little piece of hope.  Problems may not always be solved but they believe lives can be saved.

"There are going to be people today who get to see New Year's because of what we got to do," Jackson added. "I mean these are human beings. These are people, they love their families and when these things happen they're looking for people like us to come and help."

Other donations from warehouses in Phoenix and Philadelphia are expected to be sent too. Once those are out, the organization will have sent more than $2 million worth of supplies between Israel and Gaza.
