Woman injured, dog killed in Denver fire

DENVER — A woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a fire Friday at a duplex in Denver, according to a spokesperson for the Denver Fire Department.

The fire was reported in the lower level unit of the multifamily structure in the area of MLK Jr. Boulevard and Krameria Street.

According to a social media post from Denver Fire, the woman was removed from the home and taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported; however, a dog was found dead.

The fire was brought under control and contained to the basement. The investigation into its cause is ongoing.
