KUSA - Firefighters from several departments are battling a grass fire near Hudson.
According to the Lochbuie Police Department the fire was reported along County Road 45 between County Road 2 and County Road 10. Those roads were closed because of the fire but have since reopened.
The grass fire was burning in three separate spots along the road, and the fires apparently started at the same time.
"That is very unusual, said Wendy Spronk, a Hudson firefighter. "Most of the time with a ground cover fire it is usually pretty close together or, you know a couple feet apart but not a couple miles apart, that's pretty unusual."
Crews from the Hudson Fire Department and Brighton Fire Department worked to contain the fire. Investigators suspect fireworks sparked the fire, but they're still investigating.
Officials are urging everyone to use extra caution with fire and fireworks because of the dry, hot conditions this weekend.
