Texas man, 96, killed in multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Larkspur

A total of six vehicles were involved in the crash which shut down the northbound lanes of the highway for hours on Sunday afternoon.

LARKSPUR, Colo. — A 96-year-old Dallas man was killed in a chain reaction wreck on northbound Interstate 25 near Larkspur on Sunday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The victim was headed north on the highway around 12:21 p.m. near milepost 171 when he rear-ended another vehicle, CSP said. CSP said the crash involved six vehicles. 

A passenger in the victim's vehicle suffered serious injuries. Occupants of all the other vehicles suffered minor or no injuries, CSP said.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours after the crash. The interstate reopened around 4 p.m. 

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been brought against any drivers at this time.
