Crews work warehouse fire in Commerce City Saturday morning

A plume of black smoke could be seen coming from the scene near the intersection of East 60th Avenue and Vasquez Boulevard Saturday morning.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A fire broke out at a warehouse in Commerce City Saturday morning.

South Adams Fire posted just after 7 a.m. that crews were at the scene at 5022 E. 60th Ave. near the intersection of Vasquez Boulevard.

Active flames and a black plume of smoke could be seen coming from the scene.

South Adams Fire initially said crews were working defensive operations on the fire.

At 9:35 a.m., the department said the fire was out and crews were working on covering hot spots.

Commerce City Police said that part of East 60th Avenue was closed while crews worked the fire, and people were asked to avoid the area.
