18-year-old critically injured in crash involving unlicensed driver

The woman was crossing East 64th Avenue Friday evening when she was struck.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A young woman was critically injured when a teenage driver in a pickup truck ran into her on Friday. 

The Commerce City Police Department posted on Facebook that an 18-year-old woman was crossing East 64th Avenue near the 5100 block Friday evening when she was hit by a pickup truck. 

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver, who does not have a valid driver's license, left the scene at first but came back. 9NEWS later learned that the driver was a 15-year-old boy.

The crash is under investigation.
