Another cow death reported at ranch where 5 cattle were killed by wolves

The cow was killed on the same ranch where four yearling cattle deaths were reported in April, according to the Middle Park Stockgrowers Association.

GRAND COUNTY, Colo. — Another cow has been killed by a wolf or wolves in Grand County, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW).

The Middle Park Stockgrowers Association reported the cow was killed at the same ranch where four yearling cattle deaths were reported in April.

One cow was involved in the attack that happened May 11, according to CPW data.

CPW added Saturday's attack to their list of confirmed wolf depredations. CPW defines a "confirmed wolf depredation" as physical trauma resulting in injury or death.

The last attack to happen at the Grand County ranch was April 28, according to the CPW data.

CPW confirmed last month that some of the wolves in the area during the previous livestock deaths were from the reintroduced wolves brought to the area from Oregon in December. CPW will not say which wolves they were. 9NEWS reported in December that at least three of the reintroduced wolves came from packs that killed livestock in Oregon.
