MOFFAT COUNTY, Colo. — A man who was reported missing in early January was found dead near his home in northwestern Colorado, the Moffat County Sheriff's Office said

The search for 70-year-old Thomas Velasquez began when he was reported missing on Jan. 6. He was last seen at his home on Moffat County Road 53 on Dec. 18, deputies said at the time.

Velasquez's Polaris Ranger UTV was gone from his home when he was reported missing. The UTV was found near the home in January, deputies said.

The sheriff's office said on Tuesday that a family member found Velasquez's body near where the UTV had been located. Deep snow in the area had impacted prior search efforts, deputies said.

Deputies said no foul play is suspected in Velasquez's death.
