DENVER- Animal control officers have charged Aurora resident Daniel Sohn, 31, with cruelty to animals and neglect after they say he abandoned his German shepherd twice.
The incident happened last week. Officers say Sohn threw his dog inside the shelter and took off, but the dog managed to run out of the door before it closed.
Surveillance video shows the dog running after Sohn as he drove away. Officers say the man stopped his car and brought the dog inside. Hours later, they say Sohn returned to the shelter and did the same thing. This time, the dog wasn't able to catch Sohn before he drove off.
Officers say they are still working to locate the dog. Anyone with information should contact the Denver Animal Shelter.
