Firefighters have fully contained a brush fire that broke out Friday afternoon northeast of the Terrain neighborhood.
The blaze – which is believed to have been sparked by lightning – was reported at around 3 p.m. It burned on 3.8 acres in a deeply wooded area near Founders Parkway and Saddleback drive, half a mile from any structures.
Though no homes were threatened, firefighters still issued a CodeRED for the purpose of keeping people informed.
A helicopter that was used to conduct water drops to fight the fire was temporarily grounded due to lightning.
Over 40 firefighters from several different agencies battled the blaze.
