BOULDER, Colo. — The suspect involved in a Boulder hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist seriously injured Saturday morning has been arrested, Boulder Police said.
Police said Saturday around 1:49 p.m. that thanks to witness statements and flock cameras, the truck driver was found and arrested on multiple charges including:
- Reckless driving
- Vulnerable road user
- Vehicular assault
- Leaving the scene of an accident
According to police, initial information indicates that around 8:30 a.m. Saturday a truck veered into the bike lane and struck a woman near the intersection of 30th Street and Valmont Road. Police said the woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Around 10:21 a.m., Boulder Police said in a post on their X account that drivers should avoid traveling on westbound Valmont Road, which is closed between 30th Street and 29th Street, while the investigation is underway. Police said the closure would be in place for an extended period of time, but did not say how long.
Police said the woman remains at the hospital with serious injuries.
