Boating season will begin on Friday at Boyd Lake State Park, Chatfield State Park and North Sterling State Park, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

A courtesy dock at Boyd Lake State Park will be installed by March 12, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The North Boat Ramp at Chatfield State Park will open on Friday, followed by the South Boat Ramp on April 1. North Sterling State Park will open the Elks Boat Ramp at 8 a.m. on Friday and the South Boat Ramp is expected to open in May.

Boaters will need to have an Aquatic Nuisance Species inspection. Non-motorized boats are exempt from inspection. Information on inspection hours can be found at: http://bit.ly/1Y2rLVr.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife says warm temperatures are allowing the three parks to start boating season.
