DOUGLAS COUNTY – Bears can't drive cars - yet, but they sure can destroy one.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office tweeted a picture Wednesday of a bear inside a car in Castle Pines North.
The bear ripped apart the car's interior. The picture showed the bear mid-bite, as it was about to tear another chunk of the car's dashboard. Deputies say the bear got out safely, but the car didn't fare so well.
It's not clear how the bear got into the car, but deputies say they see this a lot in early October as bears prepare to hibernate. They are warning residents not to leave food in their cars.
