THORNTON, Colo. — A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Thornton Friday night.
The Thornton Police Department said it happened around 9 p.m. Friday, when a woman on a scooter was crossing Washington Street near East 88th Avenue as a driver was making a right turn.
The driver ran into her, and she died at the scene.
Police said the woman was not in the crosswalk. The driver stayed at the scene and was not cited.
Washington Street was closed in both directions from Sheldon Drive to 88th Avenue for hours while police investigated.
