Aurora police identify victims and suspects in mall shooting

AURORA – Two people remain hospitalized, two are in custody and one woman is dead after Tuesday’s shooting at the Aurora Mall.
The shoppers who saw the shooting say they'll never forget it.Police say the shooting followed an argument between a pair of men and a couple who had just walked out of a store. Both people who walked out of the store were shot, according to police. The woman, 19-year-old Krystal D. Martinez, died at the scene. Her companion, 23-year-old Kyle Douglas Boyd, was shot in the head. He is hospitalized at the Medical Center of Aurora.A bystander, 48-year-old Susan E. Holyfield, was also shot. She was treated at the hospital and released Wednesday morning.Police have also identified the two men arrested after they were pointed out by witnesses and chased through the mall by officers. Christopher Joseph Taylor, 20, faces a first-degree murder charge and is being held without bond. Gregory Keith Holiday, 20, is being held on a different charge. Bond for Holiday was set at $2,000.Police said Tuesday that they recovered two handguns at the scene and will be conducting tests to see whether they were used in the shootings. Officials have not said if the shootings were gang related or if the suspects knew the victims. They say the motive is still under investigation.The Aurora Mall was open for business as usual Wednesday.

Aurora Police Chief Terry Jones said the mall employs both off-duty Aurora police officers and uniformed security guards. He says there aren't any plans to increase security there.
