AURORA, Colo. — One man was killed and a police officer was seriously hurt in a crash in Aurora Saturday night.
The Aurora Police Department said the crash happened around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of East Bates Avenue and South Chambers Road.
APD said the officer was on his way to a call when another driver pulled out in front of him and they collided, causing the officer's vehicle to roll over. The officer was responding to a reported break-in at a home, police said.
The other driver, a 44-year-old man, died at the hospital. His name has not yet been released.
The officer's injuries were serious but he is expected to be OK.
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.
