An Arvada woman's Halloween display has cheered her community for years. Now the community is helping her.

Amber Klein is known for her elaborate Halloween display, and the community made sure it wasn't going anywhere, despite her battle with cancer.

ARVADA, Colo. — An Arvada community is rallying around a woman known for her tireless commitment to making others smile, helping her to keep her holiday spirit going strong.

Every Halloween, Amber Klein decorates her front yard with dozens and dozens of inflatable decorations. At Christmas, she does the same thing, with a popular box for kids to drop off their letters to Santa.

Klein was recently diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, putting this year’s holiday display in jeopardy.

“It almost makes me want to cry because it truly is just one of the best nights that I look forward to every single year,” she said about Halloween.

A few weeks ago, the community stepped in to help and put up her entire display for her and her husband, who is recovering from a serious injury he suffered last year. Friends have also organized a meal train and fundraiser to help Klein through chemotherapy.

“It has definitely been different, being on the receiving end of things,” Klein said. “All of these people are thinking about me and supporting me. It's amazing.”

Julia Walker, a friend of Klein, said she organized the meal train as a token of appreciation for everything Klein has done for the community.

“If you can give, great, but if you can't, show up to these displays and give your time,” Walker said. “That's probably more valuable than a lot of other things, especially to her.”

Amber’s home is at 7599 N. Harlan Way.

She said she's anticipating hundreds of trick-or-treaters on Halloween and said nothing would make her happier than breaking their record of 500.

“I believe in living a legacy, and if there is one thing that I can leave on this earth when I go, it's that I made an impact in somebody's life, and that's why I do it,” she said.
