Greeley Police say 24-year-old Ronnie Pieros, of Milliken, was secretly videotaping women sunbathing at a Greeley apartment complex last Friday when he was caught. The sexual assault happened May 12 at the Peakview Apartments on the 4700 Block of 29th Street.Police say the case had been their top priority since the sexual assault. However, they had come up empty handed until last Friday when they finally got a break.Someone saw a suspicious man at the Creekstone Apartment Complex and knew he didn't belong there. He was loitering in the workout room and acting suspiciously. When officers arrived, they found Pieros with a digital camera. He had been taking what police say was graphic video and still pictures of women sunbathing at the pool without their consent. Police also realized he resembled the man wanted in the rape of the UNC student last month. Police say the alleged victim helped a great deal in the capture. "We had a very cooperative victim in this case," said Joe Tymkowych of the Greeley Police Department. "She was a brave young lady that was willing to help us out and in return was very helpful throughout the investigation."Pieros has been charged with sexual assault and burglary, which are both felonies, as well as false imprisonment and trespassing, which are misdemeanors. He's currently being held at the Weld County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond.Police are not releasing Pieros' picture because they still need to use him for photo line-ups. They say it's possible there may be more victims that recognize him. They're currently checking with other law enforcement agencies to see if there are any connections. Police also conducted a search warrant on Pieros' home, but those documents are sealed because of the nature of this case.Pieros is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.
