5-acre wildfire near Longmont

A wildfire burning near Longmont isn't threatening homes but is threatening some historic buildings, according to firefighters.

UPDATE: The fire was 90% contained as of 11:35 p.m. Sunday. Mountain View Fire resources are being released back to their district. Longmont crews will be on scene looking for any hot spots. Investigators are looking for a cause to the fire.

A wildfire burning in the Sandstone Ranch area near Longmont Sunday night is threatening some historic buildings but no homes, according to Longmont Fire.

The fire is about five acres in size and 10 percent contained, according to a spokesperson for Longmont Fire.

Longmont and Mountain View Fire have responded to bring the blaze under control. First-responders received the first call about the fire around 9:30 p.m.

The fire is in the area of Sandstone Ranch and Highway 119.

Conditions in the area are reportedly windy.
