FORT CARSON, Colo. — Two soldiers suffered minor injuries when the Army helicopter they were training in crashed on Fort Carson around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to communication from Fort Carson.
The AH-64 Apache helicopter from the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division crashed during a routine training exercise in a southern training area, Fort Carson said.
Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. They were both treated and released Wednesday night, Fort Carson said.
"We are grateful our Soldiers are safe, and the unit is ensuring the crew, their families and friends are receiving all possible care and support during this time," Fort Carson said in a statement. "An investigative team from the Army Combat Readiness Center at Fort Novosel, Alabama, will investigate the incident. The command has temporarily grounded all aviation assets on Fort Carson until further notice."
