2 men face charges, accused of stealing 2 pickup trucks

A witness spotted the suspects stealing 2 trucks and a trailer early Friday morning.

GREELEY, Colo. — Two men have been arrested and are accused of stealing two vehicles early Friday morning.

Just after midnight, deputies with the Weld County Sheriff's Office responded to the 36000 block of Highway 392 for a report of a theft in progress.

Deputies were told that two GMC pickups and a trailer with a skid steer loader were just stolen. Deputies later located the trailer near the intersection Weld County Road 59 and Weld County Road 66, a release from the sheriff's office said.

They spotted the stolen vehicles headed south on Weld County Road 49 and were able to contact both vehicles. Both drivers were taken into custody. 

Jorge Beltran, 23, is being charged with:

  • Theft ($100,000-$1,000,000)
  • Aggravated motor vehicle theft
  • Criminal trespass second-degree

Antonio Medrano, 35, is being charged with:

  • Theft ($100,000-$1,000,000)
  • Aggravated motor vehicle theft
  • Criminal trespass second degree
  • Driving Under Revocation (Revoked)

Both men are in custody at the Weld County Jail.
